Clear Lake Water Rights and Management
The Yolo County Flood Control and Water Conservation District (YCFCWCD) holds the primary water rights associated with Clear Lake and manages the release and allocation of water from the lake system.
Water agencies, irrigation districts, and other entities that divert or receive water from Clear Lake do so under agreements and regulatory frameworks administered by YCFCWCD.
Clearlake Oaks County Water District (CLOCWD) submits monthly reports to YCFCWCD documenting the volume of water withdrawn from the lake and remits payment based on the amount of water used.
CLOCWD receives credits against these charges for water delivered to customers who possess recognized riparian or littoral water rights. These credits are applied in accordance with the terms and conditions of the agreement.
CLOCWD’s use of Clearlake water is governed by a contractual agreement with YCFCWCD.
